Hot rods and custom cars for sale

"Kickin' Tires With Too Low" - Trailer Queens!

The boys in The Donut Gang are always tellin' me that one of my strongest talents is…….stirin' things up. I'm not too sure that I agree with that, but there is one thing I wanted to talk about.

It seems like every time you open up one of the magazines that cater to the hot rod crowd, there is somebody carrying on about "Trailer Queens".

The "Letters To The Editor" are jam packed with letters from readers puttin' someone down about hauling their car to events, whether it's a car show or a friendly get-together, in a big ol' self-contained, air conditioned, dust-free, environmentally approved trailer with a hydraulic tail gate and an all-electric kitchen.

"Why, I drive my car everywhere and I'm not ashamed of few rock chips or a little dirt" they say. On the other hand, the guys with trailers are sayin' "Yeah, but I've got a car that cost me as much as a Republicans' IRA, and besides that, I just hate to have to clean up when I get there".

Valid arguments on both sides…….and that's my point. What business is it of mine how you get your "Baby" to wherever it is that you're going? None, Zero, Nada!

I do think it's a cryin' shame that "cubic dollars" has replaced cubic inches as the standard to judge a Hot Rod, and winning a $10 trophy has become more important than gathering at a drive-in and kickin' tires.

But I could care less if you're "Baby" is a trailer queen. Mine ain't.
